Yogurtland is a California-based international franchise chain of frozen yogurt restaurants with over 300 locations worldwide. Yogurtland provides self-serve soft-serve frozen yogurt with active cultures. At the Santa Monica Promenade location, Yogurtland serves up to 12 flavors of soft-serve frozen yogurt, ranging from dairy-free sorbets to yogurt made with pure California milk without antibiotics or added hormones. Fresh-cut fruit is used in making the yogurt, and over 50 topping choices to choose from. Recently they've added soft-serve ice cream as well.  

After installing the Nest Learning Thermostat, Yogurtland tracked energy savings over 25% on cooling bills compared to HVAC (Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems running 24/7.  Franchise owner, Alex, can also turn lights and AC units on and off from his smart phone from anywhere! Nest learns what temperature Yogurtland likes and builds a schedule around it. Nest also sends regularly Energy summary usage reports to track savings. Yogurtland Promenade also stocks three Energy Star® refrigeration units. Nest is the first thermostat to achieve ENERGY STAR.

Additional climate action successes include retrofitting lights to LED and installing motion sensors in restrooms after participating in SoCal Edison’s Direct Install Program. Planet friendly multi-purpose cleaners used daily to wipe down customer counters are procured from Seventh Generation or Staples Sustainable Earth. Yogurtland Promenade is a very active Buy Local Santa Monica member that supports charities, schools, and donates to local events. Yogurtland is a popular community spot located on Santa Monica’s famous Third Street Promenade.
