Texture, a sweater store and more, specializes in the finest of American and European knitwear with an emphasis on travel and ease. They have over 140 clothing, sweater and accessory designers to choose from, in various styles, sizes, and price ranges.
Texture’s zero waste efforts range from reusing incoming shipping materials like garment bags and boxes; for outgoing orders and for in-house use. All Texture staff use durable beverage bottles to refill during work shifts. Condiments and coffee/tea fixings are refilled in reusable containers. Texture designer lines include Eileen Fisher shoes made from 83% plastic bottles! Texture also carries various organic cotton apparel lines.
Due to staff sensitivity to toxins and love of the planet, Texture procures non-toxic cleaners for the shop made by ECOS, Trader Joes and/or ones certified by Safer Choice. Janitorial paper products are non-chlorine bleached and made from 100% recycled paper containing minimum 50% post-consumer content. In addition to a variety of reusable bags, they sell natural wool dryer balls as a more eco-friendly alternative to synthetic fabric softeners and disposable sheets. Texture is an active member of the Montana Avenue Merchants Association and participates the annual Montana Avenue Holiday Walk and Sidewalk Sale.
