The Santa Monica UCLA 15th Street Inpatient Rehab Dept provides a full range of occupational and physical therapy in a modern space with state-of-the-art equipment.  The outpatient team of licensed rehabilitation specialists treats a variety of neurological, orthopedic, and general medical conditions for pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients.  They also offer specific physical therapy services for women with pelvic floor dysfunctions.

Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center purchases 100% renewable power from California Clean Power Alliance, Santa Monica’s local community choice aggregation (CCA) provider.   In addition, UCLA participates in the Clean Power Alliance's Green Leader Program.  Santa Monica-UCLA’s Green Building Task Force is standardizing LED fixtures facility wide and expects to continue to retrofit additional spaces in the health system.  To date, they calculate 186kWh, which equate to $32,000 annual savings.

To close the recycling loop, SM-UCLA Medical Center procures paper products, like paper towels and toilet tissue, containing 25% - 100% post-consumer recycled content. Their paper towels also meets Green Seal™ Standard GS-1, for chlorine-free.  To decrease waste going to landfill, the staff break room separates organic waste for composting - with strategic collated bin placement displaying clear signage for landfill, compost, and recycling.

Pollution prevention practices include procuring non-toxic, and/or green certified products for cleaning and pest management. UCLA Health implements an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Prevention Policy, which prevents and responds to pest problems with strategies and methods that pose the least possible hazard to building occupants and the environment. Effective pest control, with minimal exposure risk, is achieved by prioritizing non-chemical pest management strategies, such as pest exclusion through sanitation and maintenance. Daily use cleaners, such as High performance neutral floor cleaner, and Foam free n clean hand soap, are certified by Green Seal.  Last but not least, one-time use disposable batteries were replaced with rechargeable batteries.
