Santa Monica Seafood features one of the largest selections of fresh fish, live shellfish, and frozen seafood in the Southwest. Corporate Environmental Policy states; "SANTA MONICA SEAFOOD COMPANY is committed to creating a sustainable, clean, and healthy environment for our customers, our employees and the community in which we operate." Environmental performance improvement company-wide is achieved by the implementation of an Environmental Management System (EMS) incorporating compliance with ISO 14001 standards.

Santa Monica Seafood engages with and financially supports Fishery and Aquaculture Improvement Projects (FIP) that aim to recover and sustain endangered fish populations. To date, Santa Monica Seafood has donated approximately half a million dollars for wild stock enhancement, gear development, stock assessment, and education programs in collaboration with the Sustainable Fishery Partnership and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Santa Monica Seafood is also one of the original six founding members of Sea Pact; a collection of nine North American seafood distributors/importers/processors working collaboratively on funding large projects like Chile's first ASC WWF certification feasibility study.

In house at their Wilshire Ave location, they procure bread from Rockenwagner, Groundwork Organic Coffee, and micro-brew beers from Santa Monica Brew Works. They divert 75% of their total waste by Food Scraps composting, and co-mingled blue bin recycling through Santa Monica Resource Recovery & Recycling Division. By collecting pre-consumer (kitchen waste) and post-consumer (dining leftovers) food waste, they compost over 75% of their organic waste. Quite an achievement for a restaurant! Second outstanding accomplishment is switching to Ecologic Solutions cleaning systems - a proud B Corporation! manufacturer and distributor of environmentally preferable cleaning products and technologies for restaurants, hotels, schools, and other institutional users.
